Turpentine Shine is a string band based in the Piedmont of NC with an inspiring collection of thoughtful original songs ranging in style from Country and Bluegrass to the Singer-Songwriter appeal of artists like John Prine and Gordon Lightfoot. Throw into the mix some jammy bluegrass instrumental chops coupled with competent, earnest drums and vocals and you will begin to have a grasp of what Turpentine Shine sounds like.

The band’s live performance is ever evolving, having gone from a laid-back duo of banjo and acoustic guitar with 3-minute songs to a formidable trio or quartet of acoustic stringed instruments and funky drummer, that now takes songs into open jam spaces that leave the listener wondering just what is going to happen next. Having released their first EP of original material entitled “Bloom” in February 2018, Turpentine Shine followed that up with another album of original material entitled “It’s All Small Change” in March 2020.
